Seven Central Lambton teens are heading to a provincial lacrosse championship.

Zoe Fex, Laura Cosco and Abby Gandier of Petrolia,  Kaley Clarke of Wyoming, Hayden Stephens of Watford and Jayden Stewardson and Avery Winder of Camlachie are members of the Sarnia Lady Pacers Bantam/Midget team.

Coach Denise McDonald says the team is made up of teens who haven’t played lacrosse before and have been learning basic skills this year. They’ve won just two of their games but the team recently placed second in their zone championship and will be going to the provincial championship.s-lacrosse-1

McDonald is optimistic about the team’s chances at the Provincial Championship. The Lady Pacers have been placed in a league with other teams of first time players.

The Lady Pacers have played one of the teams and lost with a few seconds left in the game. The other teams have yet to win this season. The Ontario Lacrosse Festival will be in Whitby starting Friday.
