Petrolia Flyers head coach out after back-to-back shutouts
October 21, 2016
Ted Archer is no longer the head coach of the Petrolia Flyers of the Provincial Junior Hockey League.
Flyers General Manager Dennis Meston says the two sides have come to a mutual understanding to part ways, but Archer disagrees with that suggestion, saying in a text message to The Independent that he was relieved of his duties.
Archer was in his fourth season at the helm of the Flyers. He had been an assistant coach for two seasons prior to that.
Meston says Brad Riley has taken over as interim head coach of the Flyers.
Petrolia, 4-7 on the season and in seventh place in the nine-team Stobbs Division of the Western Conference of the PJHL, entertains
Wallaceburg on Sunday at 7:30 pm.
