Oil Springs group hopes to spur economic growth

A new committee in Oil Spring hopes to spur growth.
The Oil Springs Growth Committee is a community group which formed after Oil Springs Council dissolved the short-lived Economic Development Committee in July.
“As a grassroots community group, we will be looking for ways to attract business, residents and tourism to our village by leveraging the individual strengths, connections and other non-financial resources of our members,” says organizer Brenda Cumming in a news release. Cumming says membership is open to anyone willing to participate in creating ideas.
“We hope this will encourage maximum participation by all community members, at your own pace and ability to contribute,” says Cumming.
The group’s first meeting is Oct. 25 at 7 pm at the Milan Restaurant.
