The Camlachie Cougars-Black U15 team went five- for-five over the weekend to capture the London and District Baseball trophy.

The Cougars downed Strathroy, 12-3, DKMB – Delaware, Komoka and Mt. Brydges – 14-3 and North Middlesex twice, 13-7 and 6-5 to reach the final.

Camlachie scored six runs in the second inning on its way to a 12-3 win over DKMB in the championship contest.

Meantime, the Cougars U18 squad finished second in its year-end LDBA tournament Aug 12.

Among other results on the weekend, the Alvinston Riverhawks outscored the Oil Springs Drillers, 10-7 to win the Western Counties U11 River League title and Wyoming reached the final in the OBA 18U tournament in Clarington but lost a heartbreaking extra-inning decision to Tecumseh in the final.

Meantime, The Wyoming Wranglers edged Alvinston-Red, 9-8 to capture the U11 championship in the Lambton Central Girls Softball League year-end tournament in Camlachie.

The Wranglers had beaten Wallaceburg, Alvinston-Navy and Alvinston-Red to reach the final. The Enniskillen Express finished third at the same tournament.
