Parts of Petrolia Line, Rokeby to be turned to gravel
The Independent one of the top three newspapers in Ontario

The Independent of Petrolia and Central Lambton has been named one of the top three newspapers in Ontario for 2016.
The Independent is in the running for the Ontario Community Newspaper Association Award along with the Eganville Leader and Nunavut News/North in the General Excellence category for newspapers of the same size.
While The Independent was named the best overall newspaper in Canada in 2015, this is the paper’s first nod for the same category in the provincial competition.
The winner will be announced at the association’s convention in April in Toronto.
