‘A dangerous precedent’ CKs mayor says removing EA will have ‘devastating impact’

Taking a trip to the bush for maple syrup time
March 15, 2018
The first of the three local Maple Syrup festivals kicks off this weekend.
Officials at the AW Campbell Conservation Authority will be giving tours of the sugar bush this weekend (March 17 and 18) in conjunction with the annual Alvinston Firefighters’ breakfast at the Brooke-Alvinston-Inwood Community Centre.
Sharon Nethercott, see here giving a syrup demonstration, says it takes cold frost nights and brigh sunny days for the sap to flow from the trees.
Nethercottt and other interpreters will be talking about the importance of maple syrup to settlers and the First Nations.
The Alvinston festival is the only one in Central Lambton with tours of the sugar bush. Watford and Warwick also have maple syrup meals planned this month.
