Retirement, training deadlines leave Oil Springs without fire chief on July 1

UPDATED: Injuries in accident in Inwood

At least one person was taken to hospital after a two-vehicle accident outside of Inwood.
Firefighters from Inwood, Alvinston, and Petrolia as well as OPP and EMS were called to the corner of Inwood Road and Rokeby Line just before 9 am where two vehicles had collided landing in a deep ditch on the northeast side of the intersection. One was flipped over, the other was heavily damaged.
Police say a passenger van was travelling east bound on Rokeby Line approaching a stop sign at Inwood Road when it was struck by a pick-up truck that had been travelling northbound on Inwood Road.
One person was taken to Charlotte Eleanor Englehart Hospital in Petrolia with life-threatening injuries. The other driver was assessed at the scene with minor injuries..
