Petrolia celebrated a Swinging Christmas during the annual Santa Claus Parade. Elvis made several appearances – including on the New Life Assembly’s float which featured Pastor Sam Welten as “The King.” The Petrolia Figure Skating Club created its own 50’s diner complete with pink milkshakes. Bluewater Health was spreading joy handing out bears to young parade goers while Karen Whiting – Mrs. Town Crier – is caught by the wind as she turns to see the parade behind her. Students at John Knox Christian School portrayed the original Christmas theme, complete with animal hats for the manger scene. But Santa was the star of the show, and the little ones were thrilled to see him. Jacob Braun, 4, of Marthaville, lit up when he saw the man in the red suit. His two-year old sister, Anna – sitting on mom Elizabeth’s lap – was not as impressed.
