Two Ontario men face charges after alleged immigration fraud at Lambton College

St. Clair brine use on roads questioned
January 22, 2020
A St. Clair Township man is worried about the amount of brine going onto the roads.
Owen Anthony brought pictures to St. Clair Township Council Jan. 6 which showed the liquid salt running into the storm sewers.
Brine is used before bad weather to keep ice from forming on the roads. Anthony says most municipalities apply a small amount of brine in fine lines, often only on bridges.
Anthony is concerned what the salt is doing to the environment since storm water returns to local rivers. He added when he questioned staff about the application, they didn’t seem to know how much was being applied.
Council asked staff to bring a report back on the issue for the meeting in February.
