Fraud pilot project in Lambton saves $160,000 in six months

Elementary teachers have a deal with province
March 20, 2020
Few details are available but officials say the Elementary Teachers’ Federation of Ontario and the province have reached a tentative agreement.
2020 had been filled with labour unrest as all the major teaching unions tried to reach an agreement with the province. Teachers said the labour dispute was about cuts to education and Education Minister Stephen Lecce said teachers only wanted a larger wage increase.
Today ETFO and Lecce announced a tentative deal.
It’s the second union to reach an agreement as the schools are off during a three-week shutdown to help spread the novel coronavirus.
“We remain focused on landing further deals, to provide stability and certainty to students, parents, and educators,” says Lecce.
