Waste Management and CLAC ink new deal
April 25, 2020
Petrolia and Watford Waste Management employees have a new contract.
The workers, who are heavy and light equipment operators, mechanics and general labourers at Twin Creeks Landfill and the Petrolia Transfer Station, have a new three year deal. It’s retroactive to 2019.
CLAC Local 519 officials say the 18 workers will receive wage increases of between 15.5 and 16.5 per cent over the course of the deal, depending on their job classification.
There is also a $1,000 signing bonus and increases to boot and tool allowances.
“This agreement provides them excellent monetary increases in the face of uncertainty,” says CLAC representative Ryan Griffioen.
