Day of Caring cancelled for 2020, organizers look at smaller projects instead

The annual Day of Caring in Sarnia-Lambton has been cancelled for 2020.
The fall event, organized by the United Way, saw hundreds of people go to homes and non-profit agencies to make minor repairs or paint.
“To bring together upwards of 250 volunteers for the annual campaign kickoff would not be in the best interest of the volunteers and the recipients including seniors, and those with disabilities,” says Pamela Bodkin, Community Investment and Finance Director.
The United Ways is planning to do some smaller projects in the fall if the restrictions surround COVID-19 allow it.
