May 23, 2020
Kristin MacFarlane, the fundraising chair for the Lambton Junior Sting, is the winner of the Volunteer of the Year award for the 2019-20 season.
“It goes without saying that fundraising is a very important and essential part of the success of the organization,” said the Junior Sting in making the recent announcement.
“Kristin puts in countless volunteer hours for the organization and the fundraising success is a direct result of her hard work.
MacFarlane, from Petrolia, was “shocked” by the honour, saying she is only one of many who volunteer for the love of youth hockey.
“There are many people who should be recognized for their efforts this year and years gone past. I personally want to thank the entire board, as without volunteers these organizations cannot operate.:
