Eight Vision residents have now died of COVID-19

Another resident of Vision Nursing Home in Sarnia has died of COVID-19.

Officials at Bluewater Health confirm one of the nine residents moved to the hospital passed away Saturday.

The hospital has been working with the nursing home which has been dealing with a COVID-19 outbreak since April 23. Over the past weekend two more residents tested positive for the respiratory virus. So far 25 residents and 24 staff members have tested positive for COVID-19. Some have recovered already.

The new cases of COVID-19 in Vision were the only ones reported in Lambton County over the weekend. Lambton Public Health says 263 people have tested positive, 201 have recovered and 23 have died.
