Brooke-Alvinston fair cancelled for 2020

June 29, 2020

The Brooke-Alvinston Agricultural Society has become the last fair in the district to say its cancelling the fall event.

“COVID-19 has changed our way of living and has made it extremely challenging for organizations to present public events,” says Agricultural Society President Dan Cumming in a news release.

Cumming says the decision was not made easily. “In our small but mighty rural community, this annual event is of great significance. It brings us together year after year to showcase what makes us a world-class agricultural community.”

While the fair has been cancelled, Cumming says the society is working hard to present new events over the summer and fall instead.
