Premier promises to ban public use of drugs, allow police to remove encampments
Nineteen apply to be PW fire chief
February 23, 2021
Plympton-Wyoming’s fire executive committee was to get its first look at the people who want to be the community’s new fire chief.
Bob Woolvett, the chair of the fire board, says 19 people have applied for the position which became vacant after Fire Chief Steve Clemens resigned Oct. 23 after a prolonged leave of absence. The chief had been in the center of a conflict at the Wyoming station after dismissing three senior officers. The three sued the town for wrongful dismissal.
Two of the cases are still outstanding.
Woolvett says the committee members will take a look at the resumes and start to decide who will be called in for interviews in the coming weeks.
He says there is no timetable to hire a new chief.
