Oil Springs to vote by mail, in person in 2022
April 19, 2021
Oil Springs residents will have a new way to vote in the 2022 municipal election.
Council has approved the use of a vote by mail system, suggesting some people may want an alternative to in-person voting in the wake of the pandemic. Residents will be able to vote in person too.
Several other Lambton municipalities use vote by mail, including Dawn-Euphemia and Lambton Shores.
The village did consider joining with Sarnia, Petrolia and several other Lambton municipalities to get a company to run an internet vote in 2022 but councillors decided not to approve that route.
