Carson Peer signs with Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League squad

Carson Peer is heading west.

The former Sarnia Legionnaire has committed to the Battlefords North Stars of the Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League for the 2021-22 campaign.

The Oil City native, 17, was the Legionnaires Rookie of the Year in 2019-20 registering seven goals and six assists in 49 games. He added two assists in four playoff contests.  He did not see action league action this year due to COVID restrictions.

He is the second area product to announce a move to the SJHL in recent weeks. 16-year-old Aaron Shanks of the Lambton Jr. Sting announced last month he would play in the league next season with the Notre Dame Hounds in Wilcox, Sask.
