April 27, 2021
Nova Corunna is shutting down construction at its sight after a problem was detected during a routine inspection.
In a news release Nova spokesperson Julia Iacovella says “our Corunna facility may experience intermittent periods of elevated flaring because of a necessary maintenance outage due to an issue that was discovered during a routine inspection.”
“Construction activities on the Corunna Cracker Expansion Project at Corunna Site are temporarily paused as we complete this maintenance work,” she added. Work at the Rokeby site conttinues.
Iacovella says the flaring is expected to last two days “as we safely shutdown the facility to complete repairs. The duration of the outage is unknown at this time.”
Iacovella says there were no environment issues and no one was injured because of the problem.
