Fire, Police EMS on the scene at the former Fairbank House
There is smoke rising from one of Petrolia’s most recognizable landmarks.
Petrolia North Enniskillen firefighters, OPP and paramedics are at Sunnyside Manor – more commonly known as Fairbank House Saturday morning. Smoke is billowing from the roof of the home built by JH Fairbank – one of the the founders of the commercial oil industry in Canada.
It’s not immediately clear how extensive the damage is.
This is not the first time this historic home has been the scene of a blaze. A fire in 2002 devastated the home.
