Petrolia’s Mueller helps Western win bronze at Canadian championship
October 8, 2021
Petrolia’s Matt Mueller played a key role as Western University won bronze at the Canadian men’s tennis championship.
Mueller is in his second year at Western, however this was the first tournament play he has seen because of the pandemic restrictions which put an end to varsity sports in his first year. Mueller plays both singles and doubles tennis. He and partner Shane Bulitka, won their doubles match and Mueller also won his singles match in the Mustangs’ win in what was billed as a dominating performance.
Mueller and the Stangs are in action again this weekend with the OUA qualifier event in Burlington.
Western have won three of the last four OUA titles on both the men’s and women’s side.
