The Ontario government is imposing new gathering limits as we head into Christmas as the province faces rising rates of COVID-19 fuelled by the Omicron variant.

Starting Sunday, the province is mandating gathering limits of only 10 people at informal social gatherings indoors or 25 outdoors.

There will be 50 per cent capacity limits at all indoor settings including grocery stores, malls and personal care services.

There will be no food or drink service at entertainment and sports venues – like movie theatres and arenas.

Restaurants will only be able to have 10 people at a table and the patrons will have to remain seated. Any business serving alcohol will close stop serving at 11 pm.
