Police investigation leads to Dresden schools being locked down
December 17, 2021
Chatham-Kent police are investigating after both Lambton-Kent Composite and Dresden Area Central School were locked down.
Yesterday, police responded to a threat of violence that allegedly occurred off school property Thursday afternoon. The schools were then locked down. The Lambton-Kent District School board says it was a precautionary measure.
Board officials say the police investigation was not related to either school.
The students were released to either go home by bus or be picked up by parents shortly before 4 pm.
Police arrested one person who has since been released.
The investigation continues.
