Lambton OPP find a driver ‘sleeping it off’ on the side of Highway 40

A Windsor man is facing charges after police found a driver sleeping off a night of drinking at the side of the road.

On Jan.8, OPP were patrolling in St. Clair Township around 1:30 am, when they found a vehicle parked at the side of the road on Highway 40. Two people were sleeping inside.

The officer spoke to the driver and it became apparent he’d been drinking and was impaired.

The driver was arrested and taken to the OPP headquarters in Petrolia where two Breathlyzer tests and provided samples above the legal limit.

The 52 year-old is facing two impaired driving charges.
