Lambton reports two more COVID-19 deaths

Lambton Public Health is reporting two more deaths due to COVID-19 today.

Officials say one man was in his 50s, the other was in his 70s.

Across the province today, 22 deaths are reported.

In the province’s hospitals today, there are 3,887 people in hospital with COVID-19, 578 are in the intensive care unit. At Bluewater Health there are 56 people with COVID in the hospital and 12 are in ICU .

Lambton Public Health says Bluewater Health’s second outbreak, on the Surgical B Unit has grown to eight patients and five staff. There is also an outbreak on the inpatient rehabilitiation unit with eight patients and five staff ill.

The outbreaks in some long term care homes continue to grow. There are 65 people, including 35 residents at Trillium Villa now ill with COVID-19. There are 64 people in Sumac Lodge, including 33 residents ill. And at Fiddicks in Petrolia, 13 residents and 17 staff are still listed as COVID-19 positive. There are 14 staff members at Marshall Gowland Manor ill and at Afton Park place, 11 staff members are listed as ill.

The outbreak at the Sarnia Jail is also growing. Now, 26 inmates have contracted COVID-19.
