Plympton-Wyoming and Petrolia lift State of Emergency orders
March 4, 2022
Both Petrolia and Plympton-Wyoming have now lifted their State of Emergency declarations.
Municipalities across Canada made the declarations at the beginning of the pandemic in March 2020 so they could quickly deal with any unusual situations because of COVID-19.
Lambton County lifted its State of Emergency this morning. Petrolia removed its declaration at a 2 pm meeting today at a special meeting. Plympton-Wyoming Mayor Lonny Napper rescinded the order in his community at about the same time.
Both municipalities and the county say they can deal with any circumstance in the pandemic using the regular powers municipalities already have.
