Mooretown Flags up against the wall in series with Essex

A large crowd of nearly 600 fans at the Moore Sports Complex went home disappointed as the visiting Essex 73’s blanked Mooretown, 4-0 Saturday.

The 73’s take a 3-1 lead in their best-of-seven Stobbs Division semifinal.

Former Petrolia goaltender Jakob Knowles blocked 30 shots for the shutout the Essex.

Nathan King made 40 saves a losing cause for the Flags.

Mooretown is at Essex tomorrow night in a must-win game to keep their season alive.
