A workshop near Corunna has been destroyed by fire.

St. Clair Township Fire Chief Richard Boyes says fire was noticed at a workshop and storage shed at 348 Rokeby Line near Corunna just before 7 pm Sunday. Corunna, Brigden, and Courtright firefighters battled the blaze in the evening hours.

The owners had been in the building earlier in the day, however Boyes says it is unclear what started the fire. Excavators were brought in to remove some of the rubble to help with the investigation, but Boyes says it will go down as undetermined.

“It could have been anything from an electrical short to a vehicle fire.”

The building is a total loss, however the chief could not say what the value of the building was.
