A familiar face around Alvinston’s ball park and arenas has been honoured as Senior of the Year. Brooke-Alvinston Deputy Mayor Frank Nemcek and Councillor Jeannette Douglas presented Norm Triest with the award Sunday during a Canada Day Ecumenical Service. Triest is a founding member of the Alvinston Optimists and spent countless hours mentoring kids in both the local hockey and baseball programs. He could often be seen at the Alvinston Aces games keeping score for the senior team.
