First landing at Bluewater Health Helipad

The new $1 million helipad is ready for business at Bluewater Health.

The first Air Ornge flight landed at 9 am as people from the hospital, local politicians and donors to the project looked on.

Students from Hanna Memorial Public School – which is next door to the helipad – were also on hand to see the flight come in.

Until today, critically ill patients who needed to be transported out of Lambton County were either take by ambulance to the local airport to be airlifted out or were taken by ambulance to their destination.
