Retirement, training deadlines leave Oil Springs without fire chief on July 1

Seven was lucky on the weekend for the Sarnia Legionnaires. The local Jr. B club beat the Rockets, 7-6 in overtime in Strathroy on Saturday and downed Leamington, 7-4 in the tomato town on Sunday.
Wesley Brooks scored the GWG in the Strathroy at 1:25 of extra period after the Rockets scored twice in the third to force additional time. Sean Doherty had two goals and an assist for Sarnia and Ryan Richardson and Tanner Winegard had a goal and three assists each. Jace McGrail and Landon Marcy also scored for the Legionnaires.
On Sunday, Logan Phillips made a season-high 52 saves to backstop the Legion to the win at Leamington. Brayden Degelas and Richardson both scored twice for Sarnia with Jaxon Priddle adding three assists. Dylan Dupius, Anthony Tudino and McGrail had the other Legionnaire markers.
Sarnia, now 9-7-2 on the season and in fourth place in the conference, host second place St. Marys Thursday and take on the Kings at Komoka Saturday.
