Lancers advance to Sr and Jr volleyball finals

The LCCVI senior boys punched their ticket to the Lambton Kent senior boys’ AA volleyball final with a four-set win over Great Lakes in semifinal action on Tuesday. The Lancers will play at John McGregor on Thursday for the title.
St. Pat’s and Northern were both eliminated in AAA action.
Meantime, in junior AA play, LCCVI beat John McGregor, 3-1 and will travel to Great Lakes Thursday for the championship match.
In AAA action, St. Pat’s blanked Northern, 3-0 on Tuesday and will host the final on Friday.
Times have not been released for any of the championship contests.

The Independent West Region OPP officers laid 1,815 charges following 2,107 traffic stops across the region during the Civic Holiday long weekend traffic campaign. The campaign focused on speeding, failure to wear a seatbelt, distracted driving and impaired driving. Police also enforced Ontario’s Move Over Law which gives emergency responders the space they need conduct other work on the roadside.
