CUPE, provincial government reach a deal

Students will be in the classroom after the province and CUPE reached a tentative deal
The union set a strike deadline for Monday after weeks of turmoil which included Premier Doug Ford suspending the constitutional right to bargain collective agreements and two days of political protests.
Lambton schools will be open Monday with the exception of Brooke Central School. Late Friday, the public school board announced students would learn online starting Monday after serious structural problems were found. Engineers found the roof could collapse with 12 inches of snow.
The building will be monitored and starting In December, students will be transferred to bearby schools until the roof is fixed in early 2023.
Where students will go will be explained at a meeting Monday at 6 pm at the Alvinston arena.
