East Lambton U15 Regional Silverstick champs

East Lambton got by the Elmvale Coyotes, 5-4 to capture the U15 tier two championship at the regional Silver Stick tournament in Ayr.

The Eagles went through the round robin with victories over Greater Fort Erie, the Coyotes and Ingersoll and blanked Norwood, 2-0 in the semifinals.

Petrolia made the semifinals in both the U15 and U18 divisions losing to Elmvale and Parry Sound respectively.

Elsewhere on the weekend tournament scene, the East Lambton U11’s lost in the semifinals of the Tobacco Town event in Delhi, the Sarnia Sting U13’s advanced to the finals of the Best of Best tournament in Halton Hills bowing 1-0 to Richmond Hill in the title game, the Sting U18 lost in the semifinals at the Dan Pullman event in London and the Sarnia Lady Sting U18 lost in the final to the Huron Heat at the Pink in the Rink tournament in South Huron.

Flyers snap losing skid

The Petrolia Flyers snapped a mini two game losing skid by beating Lucan, 10-1 Thursday at the Greenwood Recreation Centre. Owen Peters and Andrew Jaques led the winners with four points each. Lancers win Lambton-Kent volleyball titles

LCCVI has claimed both the Junior and Senior boys Lambton-Kent volleyball titles. In the Senior game, LCCVI beat John McGregor 3-0, winning the sets 25-19, 25-22 and 25-16 at home. The Juniors defeated the Wolfpack at Great Lakes 3-0. The Lancers won the sets 25-14, 25-18 and 35-14.
