Petrolia sinks the Sailors 4-3

Noel Sanderson scored what proved to the game winning goal at 17:53 of third period and added an assist to lead the Petrolia Flyers a 4-3 win over Port Stanley Thursday night before 301 fans at Greenwood arena.

Newcomer Dylan Demeulenaere notched a power play goal just under two minutes earlier for his first as a Flyer. He was acquired from North Middlesex at the trade deadline this week.

Caleb Kennedy and Tanner Hull also scored for Petrolia.

The game was scoreless after the first period and 1-1 through 40 minutes of action. The visitors took a 2-1 lead early in the final frame before Petrolia scored three in a row.

Elijah Grant made 24 saves in the Flyer cage.

Petrolia is now 7-19-3 on the season. They are in Dorchester tonight. The Dolphins are 12-12-3.
