Gibson’s hat trick leads Flyers to victory
January 27, 2023
Daniel Gibson’s first career PJHL hat trick led the Petrolia Flyers to a 6-3 win over Exeter Thursday night at Greenwood.
It was Petrolia’s largest offensive output of the season, eclipsing the previous high of five goals in a game. Gibson, from Wyoming, is now on a three-game goal scoring streak with five tallies in his last three contests.
Petrolia’s Tanner Hull had a goal and an assist for the Flyers with Peyton Armitage and Nathan Clatworthy adding the others.
Maddox Nazwaski made 27 saves for the win between the pipes.
The Flyers are now 8-21-3 on the season.
They travel to Parkhill tonight to take on the North Middlesex Stars.
