January 27, 2023

A winless slide that lasted just a few days shy of three months for the Sarnia Legionnaires is over and Central Lambton players played an integral part in the long awaited victory.

Wyoming’s Austin Harper had a goal and three assists to lead the Legionnaires to a 6-3 win over Komoka to snap Sarnia’s 21-game streak without a victory.  The Legionnaires’ last win was Oct. 30 in Leamington.

Plympton-Wyoming’s Ryan Richardson, Watford’s Ty Moffatt and former Petrolia Flyers  Landon Marcy also scored for Sarnia with Marcy adding two assists.

Ex-Mooretown Flag Logan Phillips made 34 stops for the goaltending win as the Kings outshot Sarnia, 37-27.

The Legionnaires are now 10-25-5 on the season and six points clear of Komoka for the final playoff spot in the Western Conference with only ten game games left in the regular season. The Kings have a game in hand.
