LCCVI artists win at Fast Forward exhibit

Jaques leads Rockets to win

Petrolia‘s Andrew Jaques opened the scoring with a first period power play goal and added two assists to lead the Strathroy Rockets to a 6-4 win over the Legionnaies Thursday night at the Pat Stapleton Arena.
Former Legionnaire Matthew Balloch had two assists and Sting draft choice Dylan Grover made 35 saves for the goaltending win.
Sarnia rallied from a 5-1 deficit in the third period to make the score 5-4 but the visitors iced the game with their fourth goal on the man advantage with just under seven minutes to play in regulation time.
Ty Moffatt, Nathan Lavender, Adam Maitland and Dylan Dupuis scored for the Legionnaires. Tyler Richardson made his goaltending debut for Sarnia and made 37 stops.
The Legionnaires remain in eight place in the Western Conference four points up on Komoka. The Rockets are tied for fifth with Chatham.
Sarnia is off until they take on the Lincolns in St. Marys on Friday, Feb. 10.
Strathroy is home to St. Thomas tomorrow (Sat) night and take on the Kings in Komoka on Sunday afternoon.
