LCCVI’s Landon heads to OFSSA after dominating in the pool

Darius Landon is heading to the provincial swimming championships.

The Grade 11 LCCVI student won the Senior Boy’s 50 free, 100 back and 100 Individual Medley Tuesday at the SWOSSAA swim meet at the Windsor International Aquatic Center.

He advances to OFSAA swimming Feb. 28 and March 1. 

Landon’s wins were part of a good day in the pool for the Lancers. The Junior Boy’s Free Relay of Yarko Zelenehut, Evan Gruben, Rowen Grover and Hunter Kedwell placed second as did the Senior Boys’ Free Relay team of Carson Love, Hunter Kedwell, Yarko Zelenehut, and Darius Landon

The Junior Girls team of Elizabeth Kuykendall, Madailynne Henderson, Danielle McKay and Marnie Sawyer placed third in the 200 Medley Relay and fourth in the 200 Free Relay.

These swimmers/Relay’s have a possibility of continuing due to their times but will be confirmed for action at OFSSA at a later date.
