Krista Duchene set a new Canadian record for women 45 years of age and older with her 19th place finish at the Tokyo Marathon on the weekend.
The Brooke-Alvinston native finished the race is 2:38.53 breaking the previous age group national record by more than a minute-and-a-half.
Duchene, a graduate of Brooke Central Public School and LCCVI, has now competed in all six majors on the world marathon circuit.
