LCCVI wins Boys’ Hockey crown, heading to provincial championship

There will be a lot of Lancer red and white at OFSAA this year.
The LCCVI Boys’ Hockey Team is joining the Girls’ Hockey team at the provincial championships after defeating Belle River 2-0 in Petrolia Wednesday afternoon to become SWOSSA Champions and move on to the Ontario championship tournament later this month.
The first two periods were scoreless before Tyler McGrail scored with assists by Rhett Joy and Jack Morningstar at 6:13 in the period.
Brayden Kominek scored the insurance goal at 10:46 with an assist by Craig Richardson.
Sean Shanahan had a shutout for the Lancers, making 21 saves.
The Lancers now head to the OFSAA tournament in St. Catherines later this month.
