LCCVI wins rugby opener

The LCCVI Lancers opened the LKSSAA senior girls’ rugby season with a 17-0 win over the Wolfpack at Great Lakes Thursday.
Victoria Varsava, Vanessa Montevideo and Mackenzie Duncan scored tries for the Petrolia school. Ella Taylor had a convert.
Ursuline won the other Thursday contest by forfeit over Northern.
The season continues next Thursday with Ursuline hosting Great Lakes and CKSS visiting Northern. LCCVI has the bye.

The Independent Traffic is backed up on Highway 402 on the westbound lanes at Kerwood Road. Lambton OPP say just before 6:30am, the police, paramedics and Warwick firefighters were called to a crash involving two tractor trailers in the westbound lanes in Warwick Township. One of the drivers has been sent to hospital with what police say are non-life threatening

Province sets aside $6M for abandoned wells, like last year
