Former Oil Springs fire chief passes away

A longtime chief of the Enniskillen/Oil Springs Fire department has died.

Ken McIntyre, who volunteered with the department for 48 years and was the chief for 25 years, passed away Thursday.

In his obituary, family said McIntyre served the department proudly.

McIntyre was also active in Scouting and was the steward of the Oil Springs United Church.

There will be visitation Tuesday at Steadman Brothers’ Funeral home and the funeral will be Wednesday at 11 am at the funeral home.

McIntyre was 76.
