Athletic association welcoming alumni back home in June

There is a Homecoming being planned in Florence this summer.

The Florence Athletic Association is planning an Alumni Homecoming June 9 to 11.

The group plans a meet and greet Friday night with a Dessert Auction by the groups from Shetland United and St. Matthews in Florence.

Saturday is filled with kids activities including a ball hockey tournament, children’s programs and a vendors market. There will be a dance in the evening. Sunday, there will be ball games, another dance and the Odd Fellows will host a chicken barbecue.

“We just want everyone to come home and enjoy themselves,” says Maureen McCutcheon of the organizing committee.
