Raiders tally two over Port Lambton

The Petrolia Raiders picked up two wins on the road in Port Lambton.
In Game 1 the Raiders offense was lead by Eric Lupton in the 15-3 win. Lupton had four hits three singles and a triple with six RBI’s.
Steve Gray had five strong innings on the mound giving up four hits. Tim Martin threw one inning in relief giving up one hit and striking out two.
In Game 2, in an 11-9 victory over the Raiders sent Lupton to the mound for five innings giving up nine runs on 10 hits striking out three.
In the sixth inning, Brady Melton delivered a clutch base hit scoring two runs securing the lead.
Raiders tallied 14 hits in Game 2 with Martin closing the game out on the mound throwing two scoreless innings

Avian flu detected in Lambton poultry operation

The Independent Lambton Public Health officials say there has been a confirmed report of Avian influenza in a poultry flock. In a news release, officials said the Ontario Ministry of Health and Agriculture as well as the Canadian Food Inspection Agency is investigating the situation.
