Inwood celebrates 150 years of community with music, baseball, auction and dinner

June 23, 2023

Sports fans are likely to be front and center at the Inwood 150 celebrations this weekend, particularly for the fundraising auction.

Donna Oriet of the Inwood 150th Anniversary Committee says there is a lot of sports memorabilia including a signed Wayne Gretzky Edmonton Oilers’ sweater and a Dale Earnhart leather jacket at the auction as the community celebrates. Also attracting a fair amount of attention is this glass hockey stick filled with vodka.

Oriet, seen here showing Brooke-Alvinston Councillor Don McCabe some of the items, says there is something for everyone including Inwood memorabilia, photos, food and a quilt.

The auction starts Sunday 1:30 pm in Inwood.

The 150th anniversary celebration beings Friday at 7 pm. For more information about all the weekend events, see the Inwood 150 Facebook Page.
