June 23, 2023
It may have been raining, but that didn’t stop the celebration in Watford.
Friday kicked off the weekend party to mark the 150th Anniversary of the community and it rained throughout the opening ceremony. But hundreds of people were at the East Lambton Community Complex Friday night for the fun.
Indigenous dancers started the ceremony and children from St. Peter Canisius sang ‘Hello You’ also known as The Watford Song, written for the 50th anniversary of the town. There were games for the kids and food trucks and craft breweries for the adults. The Mudmen capped off the night of fun.
There celebration continues Saturday with activities throughout the day and more music into the evening.
