Campbell wins silver at provincial track and field championship

McGrail, Grant in the top 10

Hunter Campbell had both a silver medal performance and a fifth-place finish in the under-18 discus and hammer throw at the Athletics Ontario Track and Field Championships at Alumni Stadium at UWO in London.

His runner up discus throw was 45.61 metres while his throw of 41.34 metres in the hammer throw was a personal best.

He’s now preparing for the Canadian Legion Track and Field Championships this coming weekend in Sherbrooke, Quebec.

Two other LCCVI athletes also cracked the top five in their events at the provincials last weekend. 

Tyler McGrail was fourth in the under-18 boys’ long jump with a leap of 6.60 metres. McGrail was also tenth in the triple jump.

And James Grant was fifth in the under-16 800 metre race in a time of 2:02.92.
