Wyoming’s Robinson qualifies for Ontario championships

Marlowe Robinson has punched her ticket to the Ontario Senior Weighlifting Championships in November.

The Wyoming teen, a graduate of LCCVI, won her weight class at Summerfest in the GTA on the weekend with a combined score of 132 kilograms.

Her younger sister, Mikalylie also won her weight class as she continues to attempt to qualify for the Ontario Winter Games in Thunder Bay next February.

Mikaylie attends Franco-Jeunesse in Sarnia and Marlowe will begin post secondary classes at McMaster next month.

OPP stop driver going over 160 km/h in Dawn-Euphemia

A Point Edward man is facing stunt driving charges after an incident in Dawn-Euphemia. Lambton OPP say around 4:30 pm Friday police saw a vehicle speeding. Officers clocked it going over 160 km/h in a 90 zone on Bentpath Line east of Oil Heritage Road. A 25 year-old was arrested and charged with stunt driving and three impaired driving charges.
