Drugs, weapons found after Corunna traffic stop

A Scarborough man is behind bars after Lambton OPP’s Street Crimes Unit stopped a car in Corunna and found drugs and a loaded fire arm.

Lambton OPP say the Street Crimes Unit had been involved in a drug trafficking investigation and made the traffic stop on Cameron Street yesterday.

As the officers searched the vehicle they found a loaded prohibited firearm, fentanyl, cocaine and hydromorphone.

Elijah Francique, 22 of Scarborough is facing 13 charges including three counts of careless storage of a firearm, two counts of possession of drugs for the purpose of trafficking, and failing to comply with bail conditions. Police say the man was out on bail in another drug trafficking case.

Francique was in court today and was denied bail.
